Consolidating files on itunes
If it's a small book of only a few CDs, then you might want to merge all CDs into one CD.
If it's a big book, then you might want to merge (for example) the first 10 CDs into "Part 1"; the next 10 CDs into "Part 2"; and so on. : (a) The CD will disappear from your Music library and reappear in your Audiobooks. I am, however, grateful when multiples are (correctly) moved all at once. As I change each title, that CD is merged with the other CDs of the same title.
It isn’t uncommon for some people to have a vast music/video collection spanning multiple volumes or external disks.
As you know, i Tunes doesn’t automagically know about your media unless you import the items so they appear in your library. ITL file in your i Tunes folder that the computer uses to keep track of your imported media and meta data such as play counts, ratings and more.
By default, the i Tunes Media folder lives in your account’s Music folder on Mac and in My Documents/My Music/i Tunes on Windows.
To see where your i Tunes Media folder is currently located, access i Tunes’ preferences, click the Advanced tab and look for the location under the section labeled “i Tunes Media folder location.”To set a custom location, click Change and choose a folder for imports.
